This unit is responsible for collecting data and generating nonfatal occupational injury and illness statistical data.
The OSH unit in the Research & Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, in cooperation with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), conducts the annual Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII). This survey collects information that is used to produce summary estimates of nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses, such as number, frequency (incidence rates), and case characteristics.
