"Labor Market Information (LMI) is an applied science; it is the systematic collection and analysis of data which describes and predicts the relationship between labor demand and supply." The States' Labor Market Information Review, ICESA, 1995, p. 7.
Although employment levels remained noticeably lower than pre-downturn levels, Wyoming's economy and job market showed marked improvement from 2017 to 2018 as the state added 2,608 jobs and more than $600 million more in total wages.
Wyoming's labor market in 2018 was shaped in part by the demographics of the workforce and the effects of the most recent economic downturn. Population estimates and wage records both indicate that substantial numbers of young workers in their 20s and more experienced workers in their early 50s left the state and the labor force after 2015.
