Quarterly Turnover Statistics by Industry, First Quarter 2009
The statewide turnover rate in first quarter 2009 was 25.1%, a decline of 4.3% from first quarter 2008. The primary driver of declining turnover in first quarter 2009 was a substantial decrease in hiring in comparison to prior quarters. Over-the-year turnover declined the most in information (-9.0%), construction (-7.5%), and wholesale trade, transportation, utilities, & warehousing (-6.4%). Turnover in educational services was the least changed compared to last year (-0.2%).
