The Interstate Conference of Employment Security Agencies (ICESA) recently
named Wyoming Labor Force TRENDS the FIRST PLACE WINNER
(in a tie with Employment in New York State) in the category of "Labor Market Information (LMI)
Monthly or Quarterly Newsletter"!!
October 1997
TRENDS:
While Wyoming's unemployment rate (not seasonally adjusted) for August was 3.9%
(see Civilian Labor Force and Unemployment),
the labor force remained below last year's levels for the sixth consecutive month.
Both inital and continued unemployment claims declined over the year;
in fact, decreases in initial and continued claims from August 1996 to 1997 occurred not only statewide
(see initial and continued),
but also in Laramie (see initial and continued)
and Natrona (see initial and continued) Counties.
