Normalized Continued Claims--Statewide, by Industry

Total unique claimants decreased for the eighth time in a row (in year-to-year comparisons), falling 24.7 percent from August 1996 to 1997. Total weeks claimed also decreased during this time period, down 25.6 percent statewide.
