2.  The Average Weekly Wage (AWW) is calculated by dividing the total wage for the industry group by the total number of jobs for the industry group and the number of weeks in the observed quarter. To give some context to this number, the AWW for all declining industries in the fourth quarter of 2003 is $757.52. The reader should also be aware that,  AWW's at the industry Group Level are susceptible to wage bias due to sample size, occupational distributions, seasonal pay and bonuses, and keying error.
3.  The percentage for Average Decline is defined as:  (percent decline current quarter + percent decline previous quarter)/2.
4.  Rank is based on the magnitude of the percent Average Decline relative to the magnitude of all other declining industries.
