April 1997 Trends:

Wyoming's February economic data show that the period of stagnation continues. Nonagricultural employment growth remains under 1.0 percent, increasing only 0.8 percent over the past year. The labor force remains flat, with 0.1 percent growth since 1996; the unemployment rate (not seasonally adjusted) is down 0.2 percent over the year but unchanged since last month. Both initial and continued unemployment insurance claims decreased slightly over the year, possible due to new business growth. --VAD
