January 1997 Trends:

The November 1996 data suggested that this was a period of stagnation for Wyoming's economy. The civilian labor force remained flat compared with 1995 (see Wyoming Economic Indicators and Civilian Labor Force and Unemployment). Also, nonagricultural employment for this month was only 0.7% higher than 1995. This small increase was mostly due to the hiring of election judges, which was an increase of 1,900 in "Total Local Government" (see Statewide CES Wyoming Nonagricultural Wage and Salary Employment). --DB
