Job Description
Insurance salespeople sell policies to individuals and businesses for protection against future losses and financial pressure.

Requirements
1.  Must be an adult.
2.  Be of good moral character.
3.  Be a Wyoming resident.
4.  Every producer transacting business in Wyoming is required to have an appointment with the represented insurer(s) that is authorized to do business in Wyoming. Both firms and individuals must have an appointment to represent an insurer.
5.  Pass a written examination.

Continuing Education Requirement
Twenty-four hours of approved continuing education must be completed within each two-year license term.  At least three hours must be in an insurance approved ethics course.


License

A license to sell insurance must be obtained from the State Insurance Department.


Examination

The examinations are administered by Prometric, LLC. Examinations are held daily in Casper; Rapid City, SD; Scottsbluff, NE; and Salt Lake City, UT. Call 1-800-864-3946 for licensing and testing information.
