Job Description
Funeral Directors prepare bodies for burial and arrange funeral services. They are responsible for the complete care of the deceased person from the time of notification of the death until the conclusion of the funeral.

Requirements
Funeral Directors:
        1.  Be an adult and of good moral character.
        2.  Must furnish proof that the place in which business is to be conducted is a funeral establishment.
        3.  Pass the State Board examination.

Crematory Operators
        1.  Be an adult and of good moral character.
        2.  Must furnish proof that the place in which business is to be conducted is a funeral establishment.
        3.  Pass the State Board examination.

Restrictions
Conviction of a felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude.
Alcohol or drug use affecting job competency.
Fraudulent statement in obtaining license.

School Located in Wyoming
There are no Mortuary Science schools located in Wyoming; however, Wyoming residents are eligible to study out of state at in-state rates through the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) program. For more information about WICHE contact:

License
Funeral Directors and Crematory Operators must obtain their licenses from the State Board of Embalming.

Examination
The test is normally given during January in Cheyenne and July at a location to be announced. The test may be administered upon request, but additional fees are required.
