Job Description
Artificial insemination technicians of animals inject prepared animal semen into female animals for breeding purposes. Technicians maintain logs of specimens used and animals bred.
Requirements
1. Must be of good moral character.
2. Graduate from an approved course in artificial insemination of animals.
Restrictions
Immoral or unprofessional conduct.
Violation of a Board Rule or Regulation pertaining to Artificial
Insemination or Embryo Transfer.
Performing Artificial Insemination or Direct Transfer while knowingly
infected with a contagious disease communicable to animals.
School Located in Wyoming
Various animal breeding companies will contract to put on artificial insemination training courses at colleges or other locations in Wyoming.
License
The Wyoming Board of Veterinary Medicine issues permits to practice artificial insemination of animals in Wyoming.
Examination
A written examination is given at the Board office during office hours, Monday
through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
