Civilian Labor Force and Unemployment:
National, Statewide, Regional, and Counties


As was noted in the March issue of TRENDS, the steadiness of the Seasonally Adjusted data indicates that the unemployment rate of 5.6 percent is not unusual for February. Historically, the rate begins to decrease in March; in 1995, the unemployment rate was 5.8 percent in January, 5.7 percent in February and dropped to 5.0 percent in March.
