In any new endeavor, it is important to actively seek feedback from our customers as to how they are using this information and to request any changes which they feel may improve the content or style. Individuals are also highly encouraged to further use information from other cited sources which may be of special interest to them. This reader is an introductory to a field which for many practitioners and some researchers may be relatively new.
A person may reflect upon some of the articles, such as the one on labor
market segmentation by gender, and recognize that some of this original
research has been published in other sources. Some of this information
has sparked lively interest and debate in the media and was presented
in feature articles in the press. We wanted to acknowledge this credit.
This reader is intended to spark the interest of our customers in LMI
and to encourage further applied research. It raises some important
questions and provides a quantitative basis for a data oriented
discussion of issues in employment, economics, and organizational
psychology.
