Job Description
Radiation Technicians provide radiation therapy to
patients as prescribed by a radiologist according to established practices and
standards. Technicians issued restricted licenses shall not perform special
procedures, fluoroscopic procedures or contrast media studies and must work
under the direct supervision of a licensed practitioner. The licensee shall be
limited to a specific body area, which shall appear on the license and may
include one or more areas.
Radiologic Technologists and Technicians take X-rays and CAT scans or administer
nonradioactive materials into patient's blood stream for diagnostic
purposes. Includes those who specialize in other modalities, such as
computed tomography and magnetic resonance. Includes those whose primary
duties are to demonstrate portions of the human body on X-ray film or
fluoroscopic screen.
Requirements
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Pass the Limited Scope Examination offered by The American Registry of
Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) answering 80% of the questions on the
examination correctly.
Restrictions
Conviction of a felony.
Negligent or incompetent use of ionizing radiation.
Violation of the Wyoming Controlled Substance Act.
School Located in Wyoming

License
Radiation Technicians and Radiologic Technologists and Technicians must be licensed by the Wyoming Board of Radiologic
Technologists.
Examination
The Limited Scope Examination required for
licensure is given by Computer Based Testing and is offered throughout the year.
The Limited Scope Examination is given through The American Registry of
Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Applicants must apply for the examination
through the licensing jurisdiction.
