Job Description
Home Health Aides, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, may perform delegated tasks
including basic nursing skills, personal care skills, basic restorative skills, using
communication skills and nursing team member skills, for clients of home health and public
health agencies. They also may assist with self-administration of medication and other
duties as delegated by the supervising nurse, registered physical therapist, dietitian,
or occupational therapist.
Requirements
1. At least 16 years of age.
2. Minimum of 75 hours of approved Nurse Aide training course work.
3. Pass the Nursing Aide Competency Evaluation Program (NACEP) Examination
prior to employment as HHA.
4. 16 additional hours of Home Health Aide training.
Restrictions
Convicted of any act of sexual molestation.
All applications are reviewed by the State Board for additional restrictions.
School Located in Wyoming
Most Wyoming Community Colleges and Local Nursing Homes can provide the necessary training.
Certification
All Home Health Aides in Wyoming must be licensed by the
Wyoming State Board of Nursing as nurse aides.
The additional 16 hours of training are received from the Nurse Aide's case manager/employer.
Examination
Examinations are given one Saturday each month at the Community Colleges throughout the State.
It may not be given at all the Community Colleges every month. Contact the Wyoming State Board of Nursing for more details.
