Job Description
Nursing home administrators develop, manage, and direct health care programs such as preventive medicine and staff training. Other duties include managing institution employees, overseeing building and/or equipment maintenance, and reviewing budgets and accounting procedures.

Requirements
1. Must be at least 21 years old.
2. Possess as a minimum a college Bachelor’s degree.
3. Complete six months administrator-in-training under the supervision of a licensed nursing home administrator.
4. Pass the National Examination On Nursing Home Administration.
5. Complete application with two letters of recommendation from professional associates describing the applicant's performance in the calendar year immediately preceding the date of the application.
6. All licenses previously held must be verified.

Restrictions
If convicted of a felony, a certificate of good conduct or its equivalent must be provided.

License
All nursing home administrators must be licensed in Wyoming by the Board of Nursing Home Administrators.

The National Examination On Nursing Home Administration is given at Sylvan Learning Centers.
