Updated Mean Annual Earnings by Age, Gender, and Industry Tables
by: Sylvia D. Jones, Research and Statistical Analyst
We recently updated a series of
tables on the Wyoming Labor Market Information website. These updated tables
show annual earnings in Wyoming by age and gender for the years 1994 through
2003. Earnings figures and industry classifications are based on Unemployment
Insurance (UI) Wage Records and represent a count of individuals working a job
in Wyoming at any time during a quarter. For instance, if one individual worked
three different jobs in one quarter, he or she would have three associated wage
records. We are presenting the Construction industry table (see
Table 1) as well
as a table showing the total for all industries (see Table 2) as examples.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) was used to define
industry in the updated tables. Earlier versions of these tables used Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) codes. Age and gender categories are derived
from other administrative databases such as Driver’s License and Unemployment
Insurance Claims files.
All of the industries and years can be accessed on our website at <http://doe.state.wy.us/LMI/wfdemog/toc3.htm>.
